Located in the heart of Victoria, Australia’s Macedon Ranges region lies Newham. This quaint rural village is situated 8 km north-east of Woodend and 65 kilometres north east from Melbourne city centre to its south and just beyond Mount Macedon range towards the north. The town take it name from a neighbouring Victorian pastoral run established back 1848 – believed to be named after Edward Dryden’s birthplace ‘Newham’.

Attracting attention for being along what was once a bustling traffic route between Lancefield & Woodend; having been replaced by an efficient railway line link 1n 1881 but still holding onto that historic charm which has seen Scottish settlers make their home here since 1860 when Combined Protestant Church opened it first school before this became government funded 7 years later..
