New Gisborne is a picturesque rural town in the foothills of Mount Macedon, just 3km north of Gisborne. In 1861, when the Melbourne-Bendigo railway line was built around Jacksons Creek for cost efficiency purposes, an entire settlement sprung up and became known as New Gisborne.

While it remains as part of its older counterpart city wise – with access to amenities like rail services from its station on that same Bendigo line and bus service connections – vehicle traffic has since grown to open up further possibilities there too!
